Ice Rain

It's a wonder of nature and also deadly...but I love Ice Rain. We awoke this morning to everywhere crystallized and beautiful - it lasted about 3 hours before it melted. It coats everything in a film of ice which is incredibly slippy. We first saw it last year when it caused all the power lines to collapse...some people had no electric for two weeks! We were just down for a day...which is still no fun - but two weeks - can you imagine? No running water, no fridge, no loo - just a woodstove to heat and cook with.

Anyhow, we have some very good news, my Mum came out of hospital yesterday. She's still not too good and she seems to have lost a lot of weight but she tells us that her sofa is better than her hospital bed. Hopefully, she'll now catch up on some sleep.

I'm taking Joe to the school to watch a film tonight, aswell as Sam for band rehearsal. Hopefully, Steve will fix our water filter and we can go out to Pauline's as promised for her Advent Evening. Mine's next Saturday...weather permitting and no ice rain!
