It's scorchio...most days in the late 20s, early 30s

Sam's just gone to Quebec for his Provincial Championship, and both Sam & Joe won their home tournament ()above) a couple of weeks ago. It was fab.

Too hot to type any more, I'm going in the pool...or I might go to the beach. Hope your summer is still good!

June Bugs

June is here already and it came with a lot of showers, hiss boo. We've had a couple of nice days but nothing like the weather you've been enjoying in the UK.

Not much going on over here - lots of Soccer, work and rain. Can't wait for the good weather to set in and stay...

A few photos of the good days we had in May. The running photos are of Joe taking part in a 5km run last Saturday.

Birthdays!

Birthdays came again! Sam...16...and last year before teenagedom for Joe...

and then there was Fame...fantastic...!

Spring is here...

Which means nothing to you...but in normality PEI should still be snow laden and freezing, average temperature 5...this Easter weekend, the temperature was in the 20s...both great for us and yet scary...global warming here we come...

We have farmers farming, frogs-a-croaking, insects-a-buzzing and everybody in shorts and flip flops. To give you more perspective, I don't put away my -40 degree bearable winter coat until end of May...and it's only the beginning of April...

Everyone is shell shocked...we have had no winter and now we have Spring already.

Anyways...(that's an island expression)

I had laser surgery on my eyes last week, just a simple iridotomy, hopefully, that will take care of some of my headaches and I also get to wear anti-glare glasses, which I wear when I'm on the pc...which is practically all the time...bizarrely, no prescription in them, just coating, as my vision is still perfect, so they tell me.

Steve is down about the football...I ignore him. Joe seems to be picking up a little from his blues and Sam is still spending all his time between exams/musical and fundraising/soccer.

We had a nice Easter, however, the Easter eggs here are crap...so we ended up buying a load of English chocolate and consoling ourselves with flakes, turkish delights, minstrels, yorkies and milky ways...we got over our disappointment rather quickly!

The photo are the Easter Cookies I made for Sam's Bake Sale (more fundraising!) they sold out of everything in 4 hours...we still have another $848 to raise...*hiss boo*

So we are fatter and browner...that's about it for now

Marching on...

Oh my...where does time go? It's nearly the end of March and yet Christmas doesn't seem long buried...!

What to tell? Well, we've had the weirdest Winter so far. Very little snow, very little cold, one day in March (our coldest month normally) it was 12 degrees. Real strange, people were coming in the shop with just a fleece on..bizarre. This week it's been cold, but we are still just getting modest snow and mostly rain when it does do anything. But mainly we have long blue, blue sky days...very, very pretty.

Every week seems such a blur, and every weekend it's Soccer training for Sam Saturdays and Sundays, and Joe on Sunday evenings, which means we have to drive to Stratford (about 45 mins away) 3 times in a weekend...not so much fun, as you may have gathered. We're also doing lots of fundraising for Sam's PEI Soccer, he has the inter-provincial championship in Quebec in July and we need $2500...yep, that's right...hence the constant fund raising. So far we've raised about $1300 with draw ticket sales, steak sales, bagging at the supermarket, advertising sales...but it's been really hard with so many people already donating to Haiti.

Joe is having a few issues at school, but he's ok at the moment, Sam is more like a man everyday, which is just downright scary.

Steve got a new job, he is now a landscaper, a position he is very pleased about.

I've got to have a little laser surgery on both my eyes, an iridotomy, which sounds fancy but I am told it is very simple, pain free and solves my little glaucoma problem. However, my boss is now insisting that I wear glasses when using the pc...even though I still have perfect vision, so go ahead call me four-eyes...!

At the beginning of March we had a community sleigh ride, which was good fun, we had a perfect night - very cold, icy and all the stars in their full glory. A local farm has 4 sleighs which hold 20 each, and they are dragged by horses through the woods for around half an hour, not bad for $5 each! It's quite magical - apparently they were very busy on Valentines, no surprises there...

What else? Mum & Dad are well, looking forward to their trip to the UK in May. The boys have been compiling a list of sweets they want brought back (funny that cos they were never big sweet eaters.) They also have orders for Trainers and football boots...

As an aside, our friends visited England over Christmas, and brought Steve back a pork pie...he was thrilled, it had pride of place in the fridge til he ate it...lol!

The photos are a couple of days when we went down to the beach here...normally, it would be inaccessible due to the sea ice, as you can see, no ice in sight, as I said - bizarre. At least they are limited with the murderous seal hunt as there is no ice...I don't have a problem with killing seals (after all there are 7 million of them in Atlantic Canada) but why do they feel it necessary to club them? Anyway, Mother nature has buggered their plans...

Sam is 16 in May (...I know...) and he's been tentatively mentioning about Drivers Education...and I'm tentatively ignoring him...he has his Musical 'Fame' at the end of April, he's been rehearsing 3 times a week after school....oh yes, that's where some more of my week goes...it's a huge production and is normally seen by thousands of people. He's enjoying it and I'm sure it will go very well.

I think that's all for now...we are loving Alan Carr Chatty man...he's a riot...and it's a shame about Jonathan Ross leaving...we enjoy him very much...

Hope England is festooned in daffodils and crocu...well, whatever the plural for crocus is...!

Have a lovely Easter!

Nee snow...

So everyone has snow except us...that was not the deal when we moved here...we want snow...today as I'm sat here it looks like November, 7 degrees and wet.

Here's our year in review...Happy 2010 to you!
